Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) are employer-led initiatives backed by the Department of Education. They seek to address skills shortages in key growth industries, map out regional training provisions, and forge meaningful partnerships between local business and further education providers.
The brief
Each region’s plan is formalised in their annual report, which reviews progress and challenges and sets out the skills agenda for year ahead. As the designated lead for the Essex LSIP, the Essex Chamber of Commerce have commissioned us to design and produce their annual LSIP report for four consecutive years.
The project involved working with complex data sets and liaising with multiple stakeholders, including the Chambers, Skills England, and Essex County Council. Our aim was to present the wealth of data in an accessible and inclusive way, adhering to the Chamber’s brand guidelines.
We designed all page layouts for the main report and multiple annexes, including custom charts, graphs, and maps to bring the data to life. Beyond design, we ensured all data was correct and consistent before being presented to the Secretary of State.
